The TWR team traveled to Biloxi, Mississippi to present and exhibit at the Mississippi Winter Literacy conference, sponsored by the Mississippi Literacy Association.
Senior Manager of Faculty Development, Alexandria Chalonec; Senior Manager of Course Development, Christine Teahan; and Senior Faculty, Kiersten Peltier, met with conference attendees and answered questions about implementing TWR writing strategies in the classroom. Alexandria and Kiersten also presented an overview of the Hochman Method to a larger-than-expected crowd, many of whom showed a strong interest in learning more.

TWR launched a Giving Tuesday Campaign in November, asking participants to #ExtendYourGratitude on social media.
The campaign started with our team asking supporters to share what they were grateful for and why, using the conjunction “because” on social media. They also provided a toolkit with ideas for extending gratitude through email, social media, and other channels.
Educators at P.S. 21 – Margaret Emery-Elm Park School in Staten Island participated in the campaign by posting what they’re grateful for on a school bulletin board.

TWR’s faculty regularly visits partner schools to support educators implementing TWR into classroom instruction.
In November, the TWR team traveled to Sir Isaac Newton Elementary School and Elliott Street Elementary School in Newark, NJ. They also visited P.S. 21 – Margaret Emery-Elm Park Elementary School in Staten Island, NY; and Highview Elementary School in Hartsdale, NY.
TWR continued to expand its reach in the U.S. and around the world in November.
TWR started training cohorts of educators from Boston Public Schools, and provided additional courses for educators in Arkansas and Australia. Educators also participated in courses sponsored by the Ohio Dean’s Compact at the University of Cincinnati, and by the Education Service Center, Region 16 in Texas.
